How It Works
A Community Supporting One Another
When an eligible member or registered dependent child dies, every active member contributes just £10. These individual contributions are brought together to provide meaningful assistance to the bereaved family.
Step by Step
From Joining to Supporting a Family
Apply for Membership
Complete the approved application, provide your details, nominate a Primary and Secondary Next of Kin, register eligible dependent children under 18, and make the required initial payment. All applications are considered by the Board of Directors.
About MembershipMake Your Initial Payment
£50 in total, payable once: a £30 registration and administration fee, which covers the cost of running the Society, plus £20 held in advance as two £10 contributions. There is no fixed monthly subscription after joining.
Contribute Following a Death
When an eligible death is verified, £10 is allocated from every active member's advance contribution balance. Members are then asked to replenish the £10 used.
Support the Bereaved Family
Once eligibility and documents are verified, the collective contributions provide financial assistance to the bereaved family.
Step 4: Contribute Following an Eligible Death
Every Active Member Contributes £10
A contribution follows the death of an active registered member, or the death of a registered dependent child under 18. Because every active member contributes the same £10, the total available to a family depends on how many active members there are at the time.
How the Advance Balance Works
Always Prepared to Respond Promptly
- On joining, the member holds £20 in advance
- After the first eligible death, £10 is allocated
- The member replenishes £10, returning the balance to £20
- The process repeats following the next eligible death
On joining, you hold £20 in advance.

Who Is Covered?
Active members in good standing, and registered dependent children under 18 linked to one. The conditions, including what happens when a child turns 18, are set out on the Membership page.
How the Fund Is Managed
Kept Separate, Held Ready
The £30 registration and administration fee funds the practical running of the Society: record-keeping, verification, governance and communication. It is kept separate from members' advance contributions and is never used to pay funeral assistance.
The £20 advance contribution held by each member is ring-fenced for one purpose, so that the Society can respond immediately when a family needs support rather than waiting for money to be collected after a death.
Where two or more eligible deaths occur close together, the Society may need to ask members to replenish their advance balance more than once, so that each family is treated fairly and promptly.
Any surplus the Society retains is held as a reserve to strengthen its long-term ability to support members. It is never distributed as profit, and no member owns or has a claim over another member's contribution. The fund exists purely for mutual, collective benefit.
Allah helps a servant so long as the servant helps his brother.
Sahih Muslim 2699
What Happens Following a Death?
Clear, Compassionate Steps
The family notifies the Society, the Society verifies the death and the entitlement, and approved assistance is released. Two pages set this out properly: the bereavement page walks a family through what to do and what to have ready, and the assistance page gives the Society's side, from verification to payment.
Important Information
The Society provides mutual funeral assistance. It is not an insurance policy, a savings account or a guaranteed investment, and assistance is never automatic.
The conditions that have to be met, and the circumstances in which assistance may be reduced or refused, are set out in full on the Funeral Assistance page.
That Is the Whole Mechanism
What it costs to join, who is eligible and when cover begins are on the Membership page.
